The invention has its origin in the insight that waste which largely consists of mineral wool, for example waste from manufacturing processes in which plates or rolls of mineral wool are used and in which a substantial amount of residual waste is produced, that such waste can serve to be used for manufacturing of a liquid plaster mass which is eminently suitable for use, in particular by spraying, for forming a sound-absorbing surface layer. This relates to a method in which as one of the essential basic materials use is made of mineral wool that has been reduced to small units, for example shredded, cursed or chopped. The method for producing a liquid plaster mass that forms the basis for a sound-absorbing surface layer can be carried out with reduced mineral wool that is extracted from residual waste, but in itself in a different way and / or from other sources.
